Betty Draper

dress - Taylor (Nordstrom Rack), shoes - Target, purse - Aldo, bow ring - RW & Co.

I had been waiting four months to wear this dress and I finally slipped into it Saturday to attend D.'s sister's wedding. I purchased it on my trip to Arizona last May. You know, the trip I did ridiculous amounts of shopping on?? ; ) The cut and shape reminded me of something Betty Draper would wear on 'Mad Men' and since I adore the fashion from the '60's there was no question  this dress had to come home with me. (Along with numerous other pieces of clothing.)

The wedding was absolutely beautiful. The bride looked stunning and I have never seen her and her new husband look so happy. They were oozing love for one another! Unfortunately D.'s sister didn't want me to post any pictures of her on my blog (what?? you mean not everyone likes their picture posted on the internet for the whole world to see??) but here are a few from the reception, highlighting the delicious sweets from the wedding because everyone likes looking at dessert, right?

This was a scrumptious peanut butter and chocolate piece of heaven.

I had a piece of this, too. The groom's Dad, who used to be a baker, made the cake. Isn't it gorgeous?  It tasted as good as it looks!

Guests took this adorable, chocolate bar party favor home with them.

Oh, and you know what else I took home with me? The bride's bouquet! I caught it!! Well, actually Kristy threw it directly at me. That still counts, right??

I hope you all had a great long weekend!
