These are all prizes I've won from amazing Blog Giveaways over the past six months or so. I've wanted to do a Thank You post for a long time and here it is finally. Now I know what you're thinking: "She won all of THAT?! Not fair!" Honestly I couldn't believe how many giveaways I won, every time I saw "And the winner is....Marie a la Mode!" in a blog post over and over again my jaw would drop open and I would check to see if I was sitting on a horse shoe!
I think I inherited my luck from my mom's side of the family, they seem to win money quite often whenever one of them hits the casino or plays Bingo. One of my Aunts actually won $180 grand on a nickel slot machine! My Mother has won three tropical vacations in her lifetime (one to the Bahamas and two to Mexico), a diamond ring and a bike from Tim Horton's "Roll Up the Rim to Win" contest. She was constantly winning money, movie passes and concert tickets through radio contests when I was growing up and I must take after her because that's how I won tickets to Lady Gaga last summer, not to mention numerous movie passes, concert tickets, pizza parties and CD's over the years. I know, you HATE me! It's okay, I understand!
It's not always about luck though, it's about persistence and determination and sometimes involves creativity on my part which is how I won the Karmin G3 Salon Pro Hair Straightener from Pop Champagne's blog. And sometimes it even involves talent, like the time I called into a radio station (twenty times before getting through) and tap danced while my mom sang "We're in the money" and held the phone up to my feet. (We scored 'Lord of the Dance' tickets for that one.) Anyways, 2010 was my luckiest year yet, as you can see. I have to admit I feel a bit guilty for winning all of this even though I've given away some amazing prizes myself, so for the next few months I'm going to refrain from entering blog giveaways to give someone else a chance. Something else I'm going to do is post a giveaway of my own that I'm really excited about. So make sure you come back in a couple of days to enter! Do you still hate me? What if I told you that I think my luck may be running out because in the past ten days I got a flat tire in -30 degree weather, got my car stuck in the deep, deep snow six times (the last time was a couple of days ago when a truck had to hook a chain to my car and pull me out) and burnt my ear using the same hair straightener I won??? ; )
