The message seem to be that you cannot outdo me. That's the current friendly rivalry that we think is going on now amongst the A-list reigning musicians in Nigeria. Obviously them 'pepper' don rest so if you have too much money at hand, What next to do, blow it on the supposed status symbols like cars, houses etc.


Twas Wizkid that first woke everybody up very recently, when he acquired his Porsche Panamera 4-door Turbo car, undoubtedly it is a statement car. Costing several millions. That seem to put out an alert which everyone got. Though he crashed the car (some have speculated that he got the first Porsche from Akon, who he is supposedly signed on to. But that's not as if he cannot afford the car though). Days after the crash that totally wrecked the car the Star Boi, launched another Porsche in the place of the crash one, showing he meant business and that he is not one of those trying to survive no more.

In between that time, the Chairman himself, MI launched his own statement automobile, a Bentley this time around. From all indications, a brand new car, that must have set him back by several millions.

Also to establish his new status as one of the hottest in the land currently, Iyanya Mbuk also launched a new addition to his garage which already has a Range Rover, adding an E350, 2012 Mercedes Benz Saloon car. He also owns an Aston Martin from what we hear. 

Now it's the turn of the only ''Omo Baba Olowo'', wait a minute there's also another Omo Baba Olowo in the person of Lynxxx. But the one we are on about now is the one and only 'DAVIDO'. 

He seems to have taken this automobile war to another stratosphere. We hear he has just acquired a Mercedes Benz G-wagon. The new monster of all the monster is an AMG G55. For a 20 year old who lives in 'his' own multi-million Naira monster house and already owns a monster Audi Q7 car that was valued at 12 million Naira last year (a more conservative estimate would have been #10 Million Naira) and now a car that starts from about $120,000 (that's about #18 million Naira) still moving up. The young dude seems to favour White cars. Things are surely looking fantastic for our musicians oooo. So who is next in line for mega show-off ooo? 

What's up with their Movie world counterparts? We don't seem to hear of all this kind of things (New cars, new homes etc) going on.

M.I Discovers New Rapper in Owerri

“It’s about the most unreal thing in the world. I don't know anybody here and I don't know any member of MI’s crew. One minute, I’m in the crowd chillin’ with my friends and the next minute I’m right next to M.I on stage, performing Nobody Test Me together. This is the stuff dreams are made of.’’ – X Busta, 400L student of Imo State University and upcoming rapper.

When 23 year old Golden Chinedu Okafor stepped into Hero Square Owerri for the annual Star Music Trek, he had only three things in mind. 1: To hang out with his buddies, 2: Have a couple of drinks on them. 3 Watch some of the greatest performers in Africa.

1 hour later Golden, a.k.a X Busta was performing on stage WITH one of the greatest artistes artistes in Africa MI.The proverbial opportunity of a lifetime.

Golden, encouraged by his friends, had the ‘golden’ opportunity to freestyle on stage just like many other upcomers who came to show their talent. But after witnessing his performance, Gbenga Adeyinka, the gregarious MC who isn’t easily impressed, quickly promised to personally introduce him to M.I when the prolific rapper eventually got on stage.

The 400 level student studying Estate Management at Imo State University who also happens to be the Director of Socials of his institution is an amazing bundle of talent, spitting lyrics viciously and free styling in a unique and appealing way which caught the attention of thousands of music fans at ‘The Trek’ as well as Chocolate City boss, MI.

M.I called Busta to join him on stage during his set; allowing the young rapper freestyle before the thousands of fans at Heroes Square.

The rapper without hesitation removed his jacket handing it over to the elated upcomer…  perhaps passing over a mantle??

“Music is seriously what I want to do for a lifetime,” the young man says emphatically. “It’s what I’m passionate about and to have this boost so early on…it’s unbelievable,” he added.

Well there’s no doubt that MI’s evocative prayers for him on that stage will certainly prove to be an enormous boost as he proclaimed to X Busta with a bow “May God keep you, may God bless you. Everything I have achieved will be your beginning.”

Busta, apparently ,is yet to step off cloud nine “It’s about the most unreal thing in the world. I don't know anybody here and I don't know any member of MI’s crew. Finally! MI Finds His Missing Rib in Owerri!

Owerri, the capital of Imo State was a good hunting ground for one of Naija's top Hip-Hop artist, in the person of Jude Abaga, aka MISTER INCREDIBLE, the one, the only MI. It was in that city, during the Owerri 'trek'of the 'Star Music Trek Concert' that the eligible bachelor found his missing rib. 

From the sea of heads that attended the sell out concert. The one and only chairman was able to beam his binoculars strategically and he located and he picked up, his heartthrob.

His gorgeous‘partner’,Chinyere Okafor whom he selected from the sell out crowd, added her beautiful voice on stage to his rendition of his hit single “One Naira’’

And in total awe of her performance, M.I symbolically removed his gold necklace, proudly proclaiming her, the new ‘Mrs.Abaga’.

‘Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce to you, the new MrsAbaga…’ he told Owerri fans as he hugged Okafor.

Interestingly, earlier in the day, during a stop over at Hot FM,colleague JMartins had prophetically declared that M.I would find his missing rib in Owerri.The rapper said 'amen', and gave a mock wedding speech, with Phyno and Martins urging him on…

However the ‘wedding’ which was an entertaining interlude during his show stopping performance was actually just anotherperformance, one of the many notable ones the popular entertainer reeled out through out his 5-star set...

THE CHAIRMAN- MI GETS A BENTLEY

 He is the new chairman. That's MI. The good times seem to be rolling in anyhow from left, right and center and they all, mostly musician can't hide it even if they try to. One of Nigeria's most prolific & gifted rapper or should we say rhyme master has just taken delivery of his newly acquired Bentley. 

The model we do not know yet, the year also we have not been able to ascertain. If it were brand new, a 2013 Continental GT V8 starts from $175,500 to about $193,300, a Flying Spur starts from $184,200 to about $209,600, the Continental GT Convertible starts from $196,600 to about $216,400, while a Continental GT Speed goes for about $215,000, a continental SuperSports goes for about $291,900 and last but not the least, a 2013 Bentley Mulsanne goes for $291,000. 

So any which way, (IF) MI bought his Bentley new, he would have spent between $175,500 (#26,325,000 that's at 150 to a Dollar) and $291,900 (#44,985,000). That's either the whole of what he got signed on for by GLO or nearly a double of it. There is the speculation his endorsement deal was for between #15 & 25 Million.

Men this guys are doing well ooooo. Now that, Wizkid has now got an MTN endorsement, we might be seeing the first luxury yacht or first private jet by a Nigerian Musician ooooo. Truly the good times has really come ooooo.
