Fendi recently launched its new women's fragrance in Nigeria. Date of the event was Novermber 15, 2013 and the venue was the InterContinental Hotel, Victoria Island. The unveiling of the new fragrance L'Aquarossa was performed by Mr. Angelo Angelos, the event attracted some of the Lagos known fashionistas the likes of Ene Lawani, Seyi Shay, Ono Bello, Kayla Oniwo, Bobby Taylor, Love Idoko, Venita Akpofure, Onah Nwachukwu and many others. 

After the launch, guests were treated to champagne and canapes at the Soul Lounge. 

L'ACQUAROSSA is created by Delphine Lebeau, Benoit Lapouza and Francois Demachy, who choose Sicilian mandarin, Calabrian bergamot and a prune accord for the top notes. The heart of the composition blends red-and-gold lantana flowers, rose, orange blossoms and magnolia, while the base notes bring nuances of red cedar, musk and Indonesian patchouli.

The fragrance is presented in a geometric red bottle with gold-colored ornaments engraved with the name of the fragrance and the name of the house Fendi. The stopper is black-colored and lined with golden elements. L'Acquarossa will be available as of 30, 50 and 75ml EDT, accompanied by perfumed body care products in all Essenza and Montaigne stores in Nigeria.

On Wednesday 6^th February 2013, House of Tara hosted Make-Up Artists, Bloggers, Lifestyle Entrepreneurs and the Media to the First Edition of the Beauty Bruncheon.

Created to foster engagement amongst key stakeholders in the Nigerian Beauty & Lifestyle Industry, the Beauty Bruncheon is a networking event that will be held once a year.

Guests at the Bruncheon included Leading MUA’s Lola Maja, Banke Meshida-Lawal, Bolanle Okusanya-Feyita, Bimpe Onakoya ; Pioneering MUA, Tara Fela-Durotoye, Representatives from International brands L’Oreal, Mac Cosmetics & the Brand Manager Maybelline New York (L’Oreal Central West Africa) , Bukola Balogun.

The bruncheon was also well attended by a talented group of new generation MUA’s , including Funmi Abeke, Lolade Ogunjim of Dainty Affairs, Joyce Jacobs, Theodora Mogo of Doranne Beauty, Debola Falana, Omontese Akhetuamn of BeautyCookStudio & Stella’s Addiction; Media personalities; Kemi Ogunleye, Noble Igwe of 360nobs, Wana Udobang, Adaure Achumba, Onah Nwachukwu, Michelle Dede, Kaylah Oniwo & a host of bloggers and beauty enthusiasts gathered to network over a delicious brunch!

In her keynote address to guests, Tara Fela-Durotoye, Founder House of Tara International said, “ As a pioneering company when House of Tara created the makeup institute it was with the vision to build makeup artists for the industry. In staying true to that vision, we have produced 1820 makeup artists. We support them and their businesses through mentorship and after training programs. In a bid to extend this support to the Beauty Industry as opposed to just Alumni, we created the Beauty Bruncheon”

Bimpe Onakoya was honored for her contribution to make-up artistry and for her recent appointment as the Artistic Director for Maybelline New York in Nigeria. In addition, Love Olaleye, Winner of the Face to Face Makeup Competition at The Makeup Show in Orlando Florida & a House of Tara Make-Up school alumnus was recognized.

Special Guest of Honor, Adesuwa Onyenokwe of TW Media in her short speech to guests expressed her delight in being in such an inspiring environment, and reiterated the vision for the Beauty Bruncheon, as expressed by Tara Fela Durotoye, who said “I hope that the beauty bruncheon becomes an empowering platform were collaborations and partnerships emerge, were mentorship thrives and support groups develop”.

The highlight of the event was the speed mentoring session were guests were given the opportunity to ask questions and be given valuable advise by Lola Maja, Tara-Fela Durotoye, Bimpe Onakoya, Banke Meshida-Lawal and Bolanle Okusanya-Feyita.

When asked about her thoughts on the Beauty Bruncheon, Honoree Bimpe Onakoya said, “It was fantastic, very fresh and the ambience was very beautiful”. Banke Meshida- Lawal, who participated in the speed mentoring session said “ I met lots of hardworking artists and it was fun sharing and meeting people who I’ve inspired over the years”.

One of the major reasons behind the Beauty Bruncheon was to facilitate necessary conversations, when asked if that was accomplished, Beauty Entrepreneur & Presenter, Liz Yemoja said “ Yes! I was in the midst of likeminded people and loved the general atmosphere. I definitely made new contacts. As for partnerships, Glam Lashes will now be stocked at House of Tara studios!”

Germany’s ARD TV crew was around to capture all the fun and exciting moments at the brunch!

It was a very positive and inspiring environment and we already can’t wait for the second edition of the beauty bruncheon.

The 2nd edition of the Face of Sylvia FOS 2013 competition to choose a new brand ambassador for the hair brand- Slyvia's Hair owned by the former MBGN 2011, the delectably gorgeous Sylvia Nduka held last nite Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, along Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos.


12 sweet looking girls were the lucky ones out of very many that made the cut to compete at the grand finale held yesterday. The prize the lucky winner was to get is a million Naira salary, a brand new Geely car donated by Geely Motors & an all expenses paid trip to Dubai, UAE courtesy of a free flight ticket from Emirates Airline. With such a massive prize to compete for all the girls knew it was going to be a battle royale to get the crown, so they had on their game apparel. 

The host & the hostess at the event were the duo of Yvonne 'Vixen' Ekwerre who was looking red hot in her black outfit with a peekaboo sheer panel at the chest area, showing off her stunning silhouette, the outfit was made by Rikaoto and she finished off her outfit with a beautiful pair of Christian Louboutin. She was ably assisted by Chris Okagbue, the Gulder Ultimate Man winner for 2011 and they both did a great job, holding everyone spellbound with their delivery and injection of jokes whenever needed. 

It was more like a cosy event, with not more than 50 guests. Some of those that we caught sight  of at the event were the likes of the delectably shaped & delicious looking Ebube Nwagbo, who was looking quite dazzling in her white body con outfit, top actress Oge Okoye who also looked gorgeous in her black & gold outfit, ex-beauty queen Mariam Elisha who is the creative director at Rikaoto Fashions looked great in an outfit from her brand, another ex-beauty queen Princess Chineke was there and loads of others. The organizer of the competition, Sylvia Nduka was the epitome of gorgeousness herself in her leopard skin outfit made for her by an Abuja based designer Diva by Diva. 

The 12 girls came out showing off different types of hair from the Sylvia's hair range with plenty of swags, tossing the hair here and there, thereafter they changed into dinner outfits by Rikaoto owned by Mariam Elisha, truth be told they all looked stunning, we are so sure it made the selection of the best 8 difficult for the judges. At the end of the day from 12 the girls were narrowed down to 8 then 3-Annabella Iheukwumere, a former Miss Nigeria 2013 contestant, Tejiri Akpochafo & Love Ikah. 

At the end of the day the judges made their choice and contestant number 6, Annabella Iheukwumere was declared the new Face of Sylvia 2013. 1st runner up Tejiri Akpochafo, 2nd runner-up Love Ikah.
